Archives: Today’s Storage Need

Archive is a place where public records or historical documents are preserved. After independence, it was meant for historical records only but as time passed government had a lot for storage. It was also with growth and development; the companies were getting established thereby increasing the stuff to preserve for future reference.
When the documents in files and folder became too much; the companies began to look for a place which can take care of the whole stuff properly and avail it for future reference. It became more important with the coming of foreign collaborations in India after 1991 and since then the need of the archives is increasing only. More companies means big operations, more activities, more employees and ultimately more records. The documents are stored in boxes which are acid-free, available in various shapes and designs at a clean place.
It gave birth to a new business activity in the direction of storage. This job is simple but multi-faceted and demands attention. Archive Storage firms are a want and therefore do charge high but if you compare the business value of the documents with the costs then I believe any sagacious business personnel would prefer preserving the business value; as the risk associated with the data loss is also prevalent.
It brings efficiency in the working, create room in the office which was otherwise used for keeping documents, records are ready for future use and ensures long-term retention of the foundation of a business.
